ChiSweep ("we," "our," or "the app") is a street sweeping schedule and notification app for the City of Chicago. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data ChiSweep accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

🚫 No Personal Data Collection

ChiSweep does not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or enter any personal details to use the app. There is no sign-up process, no login, and no user tracking.

Specifically, ChiSweep does not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Usage analytics or behavioral data sent to our servers
• Any personal data of any kind

📍 Location Data

ChiSweep may request access to your device's location services. Location data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Showing your current position on the in-app map
• Helping you find nearby street sweeping zones
• Enabling the "Park Spot Tracker" feature so you can save where you parked

Your location data is never transmitted to any external server. All location processing happens entirely on your device. Location data is not stored persistently except when you explicitly save a parked location, which is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time.

You may deny or revoke location permissions at any time in your device's Settings. The app will continue to function — you will simply need to search for addresses manually.

💾 Data Storage

All user preferences, saved zones, bookmarked streets, and notification settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and SwiftData). This data is:

• Stored only on your iPhone
• Never uploaded to any server
• Included in your encrypted iCloud/iTunes backups (if you use them)
• Completely removed when you uninstall the app

ChiSweep does not operate any servers or databases. We have no backend infrastructure and no ability to access your data.

ChiSweep integrates with the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services. ChiSweep itself sends no personal data to any of these services beyond what is inherent in making standard API and SDK calls.

📢 Advertising

ChiSweep uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use device-level information (such as advertising identifier, device type, and OS version) to serve relevant ads. You can control ad personalization through your device's privacy settings:

• iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, and disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
• Alternatively, you can reset your Advertising Identifier or enable "Limit Ad Tracking" (on older iOS versions)

If you deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads only.

👶 Children's Privacy

ChiSweep is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no personal data from any user, there is no mechanism by which children's data could be inadvertently gathered.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ChiSweep after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
